Residential facilities for groups cannot accept diagnosed persons without proper licensing Any residential facility for groups (RFG), which includes assisted living facilities, that offers or provides care for a resident with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia must obtain an endorsement from the Division of Public and Behavioral Health (DPBH) authorizing it to provide care to persons with Alzheimer’s disease. Nevada Administrative Code 449.173 defines “Residential facility which provides care to persons with Alzheimer’s disease” as a residential facility that provides care and protective supervision for persons with Alzheimer’s disease or a related disease, including, without limitation, senile dementia, organic brain syndrome or other cognitive impairment. The Bureau of Health Care Quality and Compliance (HCQC) has issued a technical bulletin with more details about this requirement. One option is senior care home. This type of care features a full-time caregiver who take care of senior, much like some families hire a live-in nanny to care for small children.

Thank you for noting that a "residential facility that provides care to individuals with Alzheimer's disease" is defined in Nevada Administrative Code 449.173 as a residential institution that offers care. According to my buddy, her grandfather suffers from Alzheimer's. For her grandfather, she wants to arrange intensive care. I'll advise her to get elder care that complies with Nevada Administrative Code 449.173.
