Child Care Licensing evaluates for immediate jeopardy and other factors Child Care Licensing staff have developed a fact sheet with information about how complaints against licensed facilities are evaluated and investigated. A PDF of this fact sheet is available for easy printing at the Child Care Licensing – Complaints web page. Each complaint is assessed by a qualified person trained to determine whether the allegations present a situation that may cause substantial harm, minimal harm or no harm (but conditions are not desirable). Each allegation is further assessed to determine whether there is a regulation or law related to the allegation. Based on these assessments, complaints are generally given priorities as follows:
Complaint investigations are conducted by Child Care Licensing staff in unannounced visits, and the identity of complainants is always kept confidential. You can read about the investigation and inspection processes under Nevada Administrative Code 432A.190.
