New rules would affect ratios, group sizes, training and more for Nevada license child care facilities Members of the Nevada Child Care Licensing Advisory Council (CCLAC) will discuss new regulations affecting teacher-child ratios, group sizes, staff training, documentation and other issues at the April 11 meeting. This will be the last opportunity for members of the industry or public to give input on the new regulations before the June Board of Health Meeting where they will be considered for approval. Discussions on the new regulations began in 2016 with many in the child care industry providing input on the proposed changes. Child Care Licensing staff incorporated some of this input into these new proposed regulations after some compromise and consideration of the safety needs to children in licensed facilities. See the agenda below for location and call-in information for the April 11 CCLAC meeting. Also below is a PDF of the version of the proposed regulations. Industry providers, parents or any interested member of the public is welcome to participate in the meeting and provide additional feedback.
